Liberas is the heritage centre for the history of the freedom ideal in all its aspects. The organisation was founded in 1982 as a storage place for the history of liberalism in Flanders and Belgium. In the meantime Liberas has evolved into an archival institution that also focusses on individuals, think tanks, (non-partisan) professional organisations, liberal professions and all kinds of other groups that contribute(d) to realising the freedom ideal.
This website offers access to archival collections, the library catalogue, image library and newspaper collections (which can be consulted online as well as in our reading room).
